Who We Are

Basketball training by coach Shabaka "Chewy" Lands

Coach  Lands was an Assistant Coach at the University of Louisville during the  2009-2010 season.  His primary duties included assisting in opponent  scouting through extensive film breakdowns, game preparation and  assisting in on-campus recruiting efforts.


Coach Lands spent 8 years at Indianapolis' Pike High School.  While on  the Pike coaching staff, Pike was a state runner-up in 2002, State  Champion in 2003 (29-0) while ranking 2nd in the nation.  Coach Lands  was a varsity assistant coach (2006-2009), junior varsity coach  (2004-2006) and head freshmen coach (2001-2004).  His last two freshmen  teams posted a combined 39-1 two year record in 2002-2004 and his two  junior varsity teams were a collective 29-5 in two years (2004-2006).   Coach Lands started his coaching career as a seventh and eight grade  girls coach (1998-2001). 


Coach Lands played two years at Idaho State (1994-1996), including the  1994-1995 season when he helped the Bengals to an 18-10 record while  leading the team in assists (109) and steals (52).
